To successfully complete the MPH study, the student must complete a total of ten courses. SUBJECTS OF THE PROGRAM

The Master of Public Health programme aims to educate and develop skills in a number of areas of public health including legislation, patient relationship management, insurance and crisis management.

The aim of the course is to provide students with basic information about planning, work organization, motivating people or measuring the quality and productivity of subordinates from the perspective of managers in health care. Attention is paid to the functioning of medical facilities, their financing, control and quality of work at the workplaces of these facilities. Upon successful completion of the course, students will gain a comprehensive overview of how medical facilities work, not only economically, but also from a personnel point of view and with regard to the constant need to increase the quality of work.

The aim of the course is to provide an introduction to occupational health and safety. The main aim of the course is to present current knowledge on the prevention of the most important risks in the health care sector. The course introduces and explains practical tools to assist employers in identifying risks to the health and safety of their employees and in implementing preventive measures in their healthcare facilities. By completing the course, the student will be able to assess levels of health protection and promotion in healthcare workplaces and will also gain knowledge of expert requirements for health protection in healthcare and health risk assessment.

Within the course, students will get acquainted with the basic concept of quality of care in health care, what is the view of the WHO on the quality of care in health care, and how the legislation works in this area. Students will gain a comprehensive overview of prevention, diagnosis, treatment and needs of the population, which in their summary with regard to practice and medical science create and determine the level of quality of care.

The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the legal regulation of relationships arising from the provision of health services. Emphasis is placed on the basic conditions under which health services can be provided and on the basic rights and obligations of the health service provider, the healthcare worker and the patient. Students will learn the basic rights and obligations of health care providers, health professionals, patients and other entities, such as insurance companies or suppliers. The issue of protecting patients' privacy in the provision of health services, which includes mandatory confidentiality of health care providers and strict rules for handling medical records, is not left out either.

The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the tools of crisis management in the organization and to point out their application in practice on examples, both at the strategic and operational level of organization management. Another goal of the course is to acquaint students with the basic principles and structure of crisis management (concept, function, developmental stages of the crisis, stages of the process of managing crisis phenomena, crisis planning, crisis management bodies, crisis preparedness of the company). After completing the course, the student will be able to understand the basic principles of crisis management, implement basic measures to stabilize the organization, to start the dynamic development of the organization and the future optimization of the organization's management system.

The subject of financial management in healthcare focuses on human, material and financial resources in the field of healthcare. Students will get acquainted with the basic concepts of health care, learn about ways to finance and measure the results of health care or measure the productivity and economic efficiency of health services. They will also get acquainted with the principle of cost management and methodology of valuing medical services.

The aim of the course is to get acquainted with the issue of providing health care and the functioning of the health insurance system. Understand the methods and principles in the organization of the system, their meaning and basic principles. The course provides an overview of the functioning of the health care system and health insurance. It is based on the economic nature of health services. It divides these health services into individual systems in the world and compares them. It analyzes the public health insurance system, including the role of health insurance companies as one of the actors.

The aim of the course personnel management is to acquaint students with modern knowledge of personnel management and the ways of its application by global companies. Students will deal with strategic human resource management and questions about what internal and external conditions affect strategic human resource management, get the opportunity to get acquainted with personnel management - as one of the crucial elements of successful fulfillment of organizational or business goals - as well as the laws of its origin. They will learn to understand the crucial importance of motivation in the work process and they can distinguish and also control the various ways and possibilities of recruiting and selecting employees.

The content of the course is customer relationship management with a focus on patients in health care and the provision of health care. Students will gain an overview of the principles of meeting the needs of patients and customers, ways to increase patient satisfaction and the quality of services provided, as well as the importance of evaluating patients and customers in the environment of medical facilities. The key factors that determine patient satisfaction, communication or corporate culture and its influence on the functioning of the relationship with patients within the healthcare facility will not be left out either.

The aim of the course is to provide an introduction to ethics in health care and to acquire basic communication skills. The graduate is also familiar with ethical codes used in clinical practice, has knowledge of ethics in relation to the patient or customer, is able to analyze ethical issues and take their own positions on them. Last but not least, the graduate is familiar with the most common ethical problems of everyday medical practice and is able to solve them. By completing the course, the student is able to identify, analyze and solve ethical dilemmas in health care, is capable of ethical reasoning and is proficient in the various areas of ethics and communication.
